EDIT: (Wherein, yet again, I brake my promise about updates to this journal)

www.nyaa.se/?page=view&tid=565…

Above is the link, provided generously by Mayumiko, where you can download the torrent which includes the captions. You will still need the Vuze program to convert it though, so follow the instructions below under the "FINAL EDIT" section if you need to know how to do that.

I HOPE THIS WORKS!!! Thanks again and enjoy!!

EDIT: Last one I promise!

If you do not want to sign up for Asiatorrents, you can download a video file from here (Just pick one, they're all the same) and convert it to MP4 using handbrake or if you can find another program to convert MKV to mp4. Either way, you will need to convert a video file to some kind of format that will be able to open in VLC player. I cannot find a straight download of the video file anywhere. Any of these files I've suggested you will need to convert using a separate program. (Which you can just delete off your computer when you're done of you don't plan on using it again)

I should mention, that if you do not have the VLC player, it's free to download due to the fact that it's open source. I think you may be able to load the SRT file into quicktime if you have that, or media player if you have that, but I know VLC works for sure.

FINAL EDIT (Hopefully):

So my torrent converting worked. I apologize in advance for this being extremely complicated, but unless anyone knows of an easier way, this is the only way I know to get it to work.

Step 1. Download the srt file provided by Mayumiko by going here.

Step 2. Go to asiatorrents.me and download the torrent. You may have to sign up for an account on the site to do this. I could not figure out how to delete the account afterward, but I logged out and I think it might be deleted after 45 days of not using it? I don't see myself using it again. I'm not sure how that site works to be honest. But I got the file.

Step 3. Go here, and download the Vuze converter. (It's free and it's the big orange button) and install it. Once the file was converted, I just deleted it off my computer. Just like the asiatorrents account, I don't see myself using it ever again.

Step 4. Convert the file using Vuze. You have to click on add file or something in the top left of the window once you open the program. I figured it out pretty quickly, so I'm sure you can too. Go to where you saved the downloaded torrent file and load it into the program. It should start converting after that.

Step 5. Wait. It will take a while.

Step 6. Open VLC player and load the converted torrent file. NOT THE ORIGINAL. Vuze should save it in a separate folder. It actually made a "Vuze Downloads" folder in my computer's documents folder and put it in there when it was done.

Before clicking okay in VLC to import the file, check the box that says "Load Subtitles" and import Mayumiko's srt file that you downloaded first. Then click okay.

Step 7. Now you should be able to double click the file in the VLC list and it should open and play. If the subtitles don't work, go to the video option in the menu bar>subtitle track> then turn them on.

Step 8. ENJOY!

I know this is complicated, and maybe you don't want to sign up for that asiatorrents site without knowing you're going to use it more than this one time. In that case, you can try to look for the file somewhere else, but this is how I had to do it to get a decent file. Either way, I hope this helps at least somewhat. At least it clears up why the original file I linked for you didn't do anything. You have to find a separate video file and load it into VLC along with the srt file to make it work.

EDIT 3:
So what I am doing right now, is converting a torrent of the video file I found here.

It is not done converting yet, so I cannot tell you if it works just now.

The link below, is for the subtitle file only, which you need to load into VLC player to go with the video file.

You can find a whole bunch of links to download the video on the Kuroshitsuji - Live Action Movie Facebook Page. I tried the other links but the only one I could get to work was the asia torrents one. Could just be because I have a Mac, but it seemed to me that it was more because the files didn't have a usable extension on them, and therefore weren't recognizable to the computer. I would also be careful though, because after screwing around on these other sites for a while, my browser settings got all messed up without me changing them intentionally. And I don't get viruses or bugs or anything on Mac, so if you're on Windows, be especially careful.

I will explain in detail how to get the video once I've figured out if it works. For those of you who know how to torrent things, then you may not need it, but I will explain anyway. It should be another 45 minutes or so before I know for sure. I will update this journal again at that time.

EDIT 2:
Currently working on how to make this work. Will update shortly.

Thanks so much to Mayumiko for sharing this with us!

I there everyone! It's been a while. We received a note recently from our member, Mayumiko about a project she has been involved in to translate the live action movie. Here is her announcement:

Hello everyone~!:iconlovepurpleplz:

Recently the live action movie has come out, but sadly subtitles were not available.

I have finished the translation of the movie, and with the help of Atlibby, Fablicate and Blackberry of Blackbutler.net, it is now time-coded.
Nagi-chan of Blackbutler.net is about to upload the srt.file.
I will post the link the moment it is available.
I hope that you will all enjoy the movie.
My apologies for any mistake there may be; English is not my native language.

Please check this website for updates as well.

Mayumiko

Thanks so much for the links! I actually had no idea there was a live-action film until seeing this Journal! (I actually saw this Journal like a month ago, and watched it right away, but I never got around to thanking you until now... busy busy busy...)

Short Movie Review: (WARNING: SOME SPOILERS!!!)
I actually didn't hate it... in fact, I kind of loved it. I thought I'd be pissed off at a lot of it, especially Ciel's modern-day replacement being female, but in fact it ended up being well-executed enough that I was genuinely moved at the climactic scene. I liked the way that it didn't erase the original canon, but instead implied that Shiori was a descendant of Ciel. By the end, I decided that only 3 things could have made it better:

1) GRELL. (Obviously.) Preferably a LOT of Grell, but at least a cameo. I was very depressed by the distinct lack of redheaded Reapers. I held out for a short scene after the credits, but nada. Ugh.

2) As a Sebaciel shipper, I would have liked a nod to Ciel in the closing scene. Sebby saying, "You remind me of someone I knew... a very long time ago..." or something like that.

3) The final line of the film totally should've been the words "Yes, my Lord" in English. Or, better yet, "Yes, my... *pause* Lady."

All in all, though, the film's not at all a waste of time. Though not on the same level as the original, it is entertaining and even touching at points. I plan to watch it again in the future.
