As special thanks to everyone who entered, I would like to share with you what I liked about each deviation.
Grell in a classic pose with the gorgeous ball gown he wore in the second stage musical! This was a great use of a pose reference since it really fit Grell's character and you were able to modify the hand position to his signature "horns". What I like most, though, is the dark lighting. The pumpkin really gives off a feel of illumination, making the colors and shading nice and rich. And on top of everything, Grell gets another chance to show off that dress! (You know he loves wearing it!)

Not only does Jessica Rabbit seem to share Grell's love for bright red, but it's a great costume for him because he doesn't have to change his beautiful hair. And of course there's the seductive personality to go with it.
I really love that you kept the striped tie. After all, that's one of the few things he wore as both a butler and a death god!
:thumb264736475: I love the spooky back alley feeling of this one! Grell would be quite an interesting Sherlock Holmes, and I wonder what information he'll dig up at Undertaker's shop.
I think what really attracts me to this is the slightly skewed perspective of the background mixed with the stark low lights. I suppose that's what makes that spooky feeling I mentioned. Well, that and the little hands and eyes here and there!
Lol this was a personal favorite, mostly because of the content. Like so many, I'm a huge fan of Nightmare Before Christmas, so I thought it was pure genius that you had the trick-or-treaters be Lock, Stock and Barrell. XD Aside from that, I'm a sucker for William and Grell doing anything domestic, so for Grell to be in a semi-put together costume (lol at the shirt and shoes) with William peeking out from inside, it makes me get a bunch of fluffy thoughts about them living together and arguing about giving out candy and stuff like that. Also, this is probably a weird thing to bring up, but I like that you shaded the top corners. It gives the whole piece a good "illustration" feel.
No, you did not use too much red. XD The costume idea is cute, and it's something I can imagine Grell throwing together using clothes he probably already owns. I mean, you KNOW he has red kitty ears for some reason or other.
I think you did a very nice job drawing the pose since it's a kind of tricky angle to tackle. Kudos for that. And the fact that he has taped on breasts really made me laugh.
I love that the setting for this is a dark, fall night. I really get a sense of the wind with all the leaves and the blowing grass. Even the light source, though not in the picture, is coming from the same direction as the wind. I think Grell would be quite an amusing pirate. Lol I can just imagine if he were in Pirates of the Caribbean (look out Jack Sparrow)! XD Giving Grell some cute curls was a lovely touch. I wonder if he found his "treasure".
Super cute costume design on this one! I love how it's a mix of spidery Halloween and fancy Victorian. The parallels between this costume and Grell's regular outfit are really cool. The sleeves are like how he wears Madam Red's coat, the vest is represented, and he even has a ribbon tied in a bow. You have a very drool-worthy art style (I'm sure you hear that a lot), and I adore the proportions. And if nothing else, you've gotta love the hat!

How cruel (and hilarious) of Sebastian to tease him like this. It makes me wonder if Grell actually likes cats or not. Hopefully he isn't allergic! I really like all the little details of this drawing. Not only is Grell in a super smexy cabaret style costume, feathers and all, but there's also cool Halloween decorations, mischievous cats, and super awesome jack-o-lanterns. Am I right to assume that one is Grell and the other is William?
And leave it to Grell to have so much red incorporated into the decor of his home.
:thumb266287358: Being a fan of Kurimonakaya's doujins, this looked like a very familiar cosplay, but now I can't recall exactly where I saw the design. Perhaps it has been burned deep withing my Grell-fandom psyche.
Either way, Grell makes the "sexy nurse" costume look absolutely fabulous, and he knows it. I very much appreciate that you have the eye color and eyebrow shapes incorporated into the cosplay, as those are things that show you've gone the extra mile. Now, I wonder what Grell's treatment is for eating too much Halloween candy.

The company kept a perpetual party table stocked with fruit, cakes, biscuits, cider of the mundane variety, and a few handfuls of candy. This was the office Hallow's Eve party, not too much of a bang-up affair. All of us were considered on duty tonight, this was merely an act of kindness for those passing back and forth.
It wasn't a matter of more people died tonight, it was more a matter of all released souls tended to be a bit grumpier. Let me say anyone who ever dismissed the notion of increased oddness on Halloween as utter rubbish were utter idiots. We had been trained from day one that death energy is higher in the air that night, the natural walls between the different realms were much weaker, and anything related to any souls tended to be a bit more powerful and a bit more agitated.

This was so much fun to read. It was a great first person, introspective type of fic, and it was a very clever take on the trick-or-treat theme. For being a relatively short piece, I felt it had the perfect timing and rhythm for a oneshot, and it gave enough insight into the setting to imply a full world that we are peeking into. Doing some research and including the period accurate Halloween customs was a genius move, and it really fit well into the story. Your take on Grell's personality is refreshing, and I very much enjoyed this!

So I'm going to be honest and tell you that I don't really know anything about Sailor Moon, but am I correct that he's dressed up as Sailor Mars? Of course he would pick the one with a red theme. I really love that the costume includes his shoes AND that the infamous red coat can be seen behind the mirror. Also, there's a brilliant red wall in the background. You just know Grell takes pictures of himself in the mirror when he dresses up, so this is quite fitting!
I have to come clean and say this was a personal favorite. The whole idea is just so clever and so masterfully done! I love the vibrant red (as I'm sure Grell does as well), and that it's such a sexy, form fitting dress. I can really see him wearing this and then making comments about how sweet he is and being eaten up.
The angle is interesting and works really well to make the design pop, and it shows off that even Grell's hair is all twizzled. (Yes, I made that word up just now.) I feel like this is the type of fanmade costume that cosplayers would go crazy over. *breaks out the stretch PVC*
